Bryan Schultz Wins WSOPC Ring in Lake Tahoe
One of the most recent stops for the World Series of Poker Circuit was Harveys Lake Tahoe. It featured a $1,600 Main Event, which is certainly low by Main Event standards. This highlights a great thing about the WSOPC: the buy-ins are accessible so that the normal amateur player can take part. This is especially important in a day and age where Americans are not allowed on a William Hill Poker download.
A grand total of 327 people played over two Day 1s. This created a 6-figure first prize of $111,812! While 181 players made it to Day 2, just 11 players went on to Day 3. Within half an hour, two of these players busted and the final table was formed.
The first bust of the final table was Casey McCarrel. He started the final table with the fourth biggest stack, but he lost a chunk of chips to Chris Clark after doubling him up. He spent the rest of his chips on a flush draw and overcard against Ron Segni’s top pair, and he was sent to the rail after missing his outs.
Segni held the chip lead at this point, but Daniel Lowery decided it couldn’t stay that way. The two men played a pot in which Lowery hit a full house versus Segni’s top two pair. This sent a huge number of chips Lowery’s way. Then Lowery gained even more chips after busting Joe Fernandez with yet another full house. When it became 6-handed, Lowery’s stack was, incredibly, worth half the chips in play.
Lowery’s stack was formidable, but Schultz almost caught up to him in chips after busting Segni in third place. Segni had to settle for just over $50k in prize money, but he shouldn’t be sad because it is a lot of money for video poker online
When it became heads-up, the stacks were quite deep. The remaining players decided to speed things up by eliminating three blind levels so that stacks were shallower. This action appears to have worked, for the match was over quite quickly.
Schultz put in the last of his chips all-in preflop with J9dd, but he was dominated by the AJ of Lowery. It was Schultz’s lucky day, though, for he hit a flush once the community cards fell. Lowery’s stack was crippled as a result, and he couldn’t mount a comeback. Congratulations to Schultz for winning WSOPC Lake Tahoe!
