Inaugural Epic Poker League MTT Finishes Up Last Week

The first Epic Poker League event is in the books as the four day event wrapped up in exciting fashion. Taking place at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, the tournament started on August 9th and finished up on August 12th. It featured 137 entries at $20,000 a pop with $400,000 added to the prize pool by the Epic Poker League. After all entries were totalled up, the prize pool was $3,140,000 with a cool million dollars for first place. You could do a lot of online casino gambling with that money!

The final table was unsurprisingly tough with over $45 million in total tournament earnings and 16 bracelets at the table. Epic Poker League – Some Love It, Some Hate It

The first ever Epic Poker League Main Event took place at the Palms Resort Casino in Las Vegas, one of the most popular casinos for USA players. Prior to the Main Event was a $1,500 Pro/Amateur Event which saw 190 players enter. The top 9 finishes gained entry into the Main Event.

On top of that another 128 pros put up the $20,000 entry fee, which set the final field at 137 players. Another $400,000 was added to the prize pool, which meant that a total of $3,085,200 was up for grabs.

The field was, of course, filled with a staggering number of tough pros as per the goal of Epic Poker League. There were the online poker best and also many live specialists. The fact that the event was six-max ratcheted up the action quite a bit as well.

Everyone started off with 50,000 chips, with the blinds at 100-200. The levels were 90 minutes long. After all the buy-ins were tallied up, a mammoth first place prize of $1,000,000 had been created.

Despite the problems and indictments with US poker sites, the game still has a strong following in the United States. This is demonstrated by the excitement people have over the Epic Poker League, which was recently created by Annie Duke and former World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack.

Epic Poker League aims to provide tournaments that will be comprised of established professional poker players. They’ve created a Global Poker Index, measuring up the top tournament players in the world. 200 players have qualified via the Global Poker Index. And now Epic Poker League has locked up a platform to feature said tournaments and players.

The League now has a television deal in place with the CBS Television Network as well as Velocity, which is a new network created by Discovery. In full, 20 hours of total programming will air with 7 hours scheduled on the weekends on CBS and 13 hours on Velocity.
