Full Tilt Poker Renews Secondary License
[4 Aug 2011 | No Comment | ]

If you are a fan of online poker rooms, chances are you know all about the ongoing saga of Full Tilt Poker and their licensing issues. This past Friday the Kahnawake Gaming Commission gave Full Tilt a renewal of their Secondary Client Provider Authorization for a term of two years.

Many poker players were confused upon hearing that Full Tilt Poker was licensed at all by Kahnawake.  Kahnawake is the same commission that licenses Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker, the home of several scandals. Cereus once hosted some of the best Mac poker sites online, but nothing constructive has been heard from the them regarding Americans since April 15th. This is, of course, something they have in common with Full Tilt.

It should be noted that while Full Tilt’s secondary license is valid, their primary license from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) is still suspended pending an upcoming hearing. Paraphrasing the Alderney Commission’s website, they are looking for their hearing with Full Tilt to occur as soon as possible and no later than September 15th.

Players Still Waiting for Full Tilt’s Solution
[31 Jul 2011 | No Comment | ]

On April 15th players all around the United States of America became aware of the grim reality referred to as Black Friday, as their ability to play online poker on the three major sites was stripped away. However, a short time later American players were able to access their money in full on PokerStars and withdraw it. They could no longer earn PokerStars rakeback, but at least their money was safe.

Unfortunately, the outcome with Full Tilt Poker was quite the opposite. American players have been unable to access their funds since that fateful day in April. Now even players abroad are feeling similar effects as they’ve also been unable to access their funds since June 29th.

Full Tilt Poker became inaccessible to everyone when the Alderney Gaming Control Commission (AGCC) stripped them of their license on June 29th. Once one of the best Mac poker sites available, Full Tilt was no longer available to anyone. Their unsatisfactory job at paying back the American players was part of the reason they lost their license.

Affected players then looked…

[17 Mar 2011 | No Comment | ]

With so many live PokerStars sponsored series out there, there is no doubt that the Full Tilt Poker download has been looking for an opportunity to host a live series of their own. The site finally came through recently with the introduction of the Onyx Cup Series. It is safe to say that the introduction of this series has caused a ripple of excitement in the poker community!

The Onyx Cup Series features six tournaments hosted in different parts of the world. These are not ordinary tournaments though. These high stakes tournaments start at $100k and award points on the Onyx Cup Series Leaderboard. You must earn Leaderboard points in the first five events of the series to qualify for the $250k Grand Finale event at the end of the year.

Tournaments in the Onyx Cup Series feature eight-handed tables and a “shot clock”. The best US poker sites give each player a limited amount of time to act when it is their turn at the table, and this is what the shot clock does in the Onyx…

Full Tilt Announce the Onyx Cup
[16 Mar 2011 | No Comment | ]

Excitement is growing following the announcement of a new live tournament series from the people behind the Full Tilt Poker Download. The online poker site are known for their innovations. Popular formats such as Rush Poker and Multi-Entry tournaments have all emerged from their R&D department in the last few years. The Onyx Cup, however, is far more straightforward.

The premise is to get the best players in the world competing against each other in a tournament format. Most high profile events, even those with big buy-ins, attract a lot of a amateur players. This makes it more difficult to see the entrancing pro vs pro battles that fans want.

The Onyx Cup is designed to change all that. It consists of 6 separate No Limit Hold’em tournaments held in different locations around the world. Although the events will be completely open, the buy-ins are set at such a level that only the pros with the biggest bankrolls will be able to enter. The entry fees will be between $100,000 and $300,000. Absolutely huge by anyone’s reckoning.

If you download Full Tilt Poker this month, you have the chance to challenge Tom Dwan, the poker phenomenon known as durrr online. If you can make it past three challenges, you will win the chance to play Dwan in four heads-up Sit & Gos for up to $1.5 million in cash!

Challenge 1 tests your skill in ring games. You can play either NLHE or PLO, and your goal is to get ranked on the durrr Leaderboards. There is a Low, Medium, and High Leaderboard depending on stakes, and a selection of players from each will move on to Challenge 2.

Your Leaderboard ranking depends on the number of “Leaderboard chips” earned at ring game tables. To earn Leaderboard chips, you must play a Rush Poker table or two regular tables at the same time, and you must win pots post flop. You can play as much as you want, but your Leaderboard chips are calculated for every 500 hands you play. The players that earn the most chips in any given 500 hand sample will rank highest…

Full Tilt MiniFTOPS XIX Ready to Go
[26 Feb 2011 | No Comment | ]

FTOPS XIX was a wild success, and we’re ready to do it all over again on a smaller scale. MiniFTOPS XIX starts March 6th, featuring the same tournaments as FTOPS XIX but with buy-ins around 1/10 the size. It’s the perfect opportunity for small bankrolls to use a Full Tilt Poker referral code and participate in a series of events offering gigantic first place prizes.

This version of MiniFTOPS differs a lot from previous MiniFTOPS series. The introduction of Full Tilt Multi-Entry tournaments has made it possible to offer larger prize pools in a number of events. For example, the Main Event is bigger than ever with a $75 buy-in and a whopping $1.25 million guaranteed! If you are into multi-tabling, you will be happy to know that you can enter this event up to six times. Because of multi-entries, this tournament is very likely to surpass its guarantee by a wide margin.

Another addition to the schedule is the 2-day No Limit Heads Up event on March 12th. Featuring a $100k prize pool, the $1,000+$60 buy-in is by…

Full Tilt Poker FTOPS XIX
[5 Feb 2011 | No Comment | ]

It’s that time of year again! FTOPS XIX is upon us, and as usual it is bigger and better than the before. Over $22 million is guaranteed this time around over 45 events, up from the $19 million that was guaranteed in FTOPS XVII. If you think back to when FTOPS was first introduced in 2006 with eight events and $1 million in guaranteed prize pools, you have to admit that the growth has been astounding!

If you are a tournament player, it is a great time to create an account and take advantage of a Full Tilt referral code. The biggest guarantee of the series is an incredible $3 million for the $600+$40 Main Event. You might think to yourself that the Main Event’s prize pool is a lot larger than usual, and this is because it has turned into a Multi-Entry tournament. This means that players are allowed to play this tournament multiple times at once under the same screen name.

To play for another huge prize pool, register for the $2,000+$100 two-day event on February 19th.…

Win Big with Double Guarantees on Full Tilt
[19 Jan 2011 | No Comment | ]

If you love tournaments with huge guarantees, be sure to get your hands on the Full Tilt Poker download this month because Full Tilt is doubling their tournament guarantees from January 24th to January 30th. That’s right – every tournament with a guarantee will have at least double the usual guaranteed prize pool, which means that you will have the chance to win even bigger than usual. If you have been trying to score huge in a big event, be sure to clear your schedule because you cannot find these kinds of prize pools during a regular week.

To make this even more exciting, the Full Tilt Poker download has introduced Multi Entry Tournaments. Multi Entry Tournaments allow you to register for the same tournament more than once at the same time. This means you could potentially multi-table the same tournament with the same screen name!

If you download Full Tilt Poker to participate in these new Multi Entry Tournaments, you should take note of a few rules. There is a maximum of six entries per tournament,…
